The minimally invasive necklift can tighten your neckline and produce a younger, more refreshed look
Dr Szalay often sees patients seeking a firmer neck. He feels the minimally invasive necklift is an excellent way of rejuvenating this area.
The neck tends to sag or become wrinkled due to time and gravity. In addition, excess fat can accumulate resulting in a ‘double chin’. Fortunately Dr Szalay offers a number of options which can significantly improve the appearance of the neck:
- Liposuction can remove excess fat beneath the chin or along the jawline. Liposuction by itself however can result in loose skin over the age of 40.
- The minimally invasive neck lift tightens laxity of the upper and lower neck. Often this procedure is combined with a minimally invasive facelift. More information on this procedure is here
How does the minimally invasive necklift work?
Dr Szalay uses multiple fine sutures to lift and support sagging skin and muscle of the neck. He loops the sutures through the sagging muscle layer beneath the skin. Dr Szalay anchors the other ends of the sutures to firm tissue behind the ear or at the back of the scalp. So this strengthens the result.
Dr Szalay removes excess skin with an incision which is carefully placed behind the ear or beneath the chin.
The minimally invasive necklift requires less skin undermining than a conventional necklift. So this reduces bleeding and bruising and helps with skin healing and recovery time.
How long does the minimally invasive necklift take to heal?
You need to wear a compression bandage for four days. So you can wash your hair after this. We remove the sutures after seven days and most patients can return to work after 14 days.
How much does it cost?
The initial consultation with Dr Szalay is $75.00. The minimally invasive necklift costs $7990. This includes hospital and anaesthetist fees and is based on a 2 hour procedure.
Please note that in some patients it is not possible to do the neck lift without also lifting the face. This is because of the direction of the lift as well as excess skin.
