How are the Motiva Breast Implants different?
Motiva breast implants have been designed with several unique features aimed at improving patient safety.
Motiva Breast Implant Surface
Motiva implants have a bio-engineered surface which promotes even attachment of the implant to your normal breast tissue. This has provided two main advantages:
- Early studies have shown that the rate of capsular hardening is reduced with Motiva implants.
- The risk of BIA-ALCL is also reduced with Motiva implants. Further information regarding BIA-ALCL is available here: https://www.tga.gov.au/alert/breast-implants-and-anaplastic-large-cell-lymphoma
Other features of Motiva Implants
Motiva implants have been designed with an interaction between the silicone gel and implant shell which is aimed at reducing rippling. This can be helpful in lightly built women.
A small micro chip inside the implant provides identification of the implant. Sometimes patients can’t recall the size of their implants after a period of time. The microchip is helpful in confirming the size of the implant in case a patient subsequently wishes to go larger or smaller. It is then easier to plan for the new size the patient would like to achieve.
Motiva Breast implants: Ergonomix
The Motiva Ergonomix breast implants are round but with a soft gel which falls into shape to give a natural tear drop appearance. An important advantage the Ergonomix has over standard teardrop implants is that the risk of rotation is reduced because it is a round implant.
The cost of Motiva implants is $8990, which includes the hospital and anaesthetist. The only additional cost is the script for medication.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner
